Arrival at Frans Seda Airport – Maumere City Tour
Welcome to Flores, the island of thousand wonders!
You are touching down at Frans Seda Airport; meet and greet and our local tour guide will assist to transfer to the town to check in to the hotel.
We will begin with an afternoon city tour, to see the real life of the local. Visit local market, Tsunami Monument, walking city tour from the Tsunami Monument to the Cathedral of Saint Joseph to see the paintings where the figure of Jesus painted as Negros as local figure, Call at Mangrove Forest and Kajuwulu Hill with blue ocean view. Enjoy Sunset on the island and will be ended with dinner at local restaurant.
After dinner we will be back to the hotel to take rest along the first night on the Island.***
Pulau Babi- Pulau Besar – Stone Bridge & Kojadoi Village – Pangabatang Beach
After having breakfast at the homestay, we will be transferred to the harbor to get in to the boat for an island hopping to visit the remote Pulau Babi and Pulau Besar; the islands those were abandoned after the Tsunami Catastrophe on Dec 12th. 1992. Walking the stone bridge connecting Pulau Besar to the tiny isle of Kojadoi – a small community of the Bajau tribe, hike up the hill for a panoramic view then proceeds to Pangabatang beach.
Lunch will be served on beach in picnic style.
In the afternoon, boating back to Maumere. You are free at your own leisure until dinner time. Dinner will be served at local restaurant in Maumere to end up the program of today. ***
Leave Maumere for Moni, Ethnographic Museum Blikon Blewut, Lepolorun, Waturaka
After having breakfast, begin our trip westward, to Waturaka – the community of the Lio tribe who live on the base of the legendary Mount Kelimutu.
The trip will pass thru the exotic natural setting with its dramatic panoramic view of the hills and canyons. Some stops will be made such as at the Ethnographic Museum Blikon Blewut in Ledalero; the biggest Museum in East Nusa Tenggara narrates the past of human life on the island, their culture and civilization.
Another stop will also be made at Lepo Lorun, the co-operative community of the Sikkanese women with their beautiful natural color of ikat weaving and arts.
Lunch will be made at local restaurant in Moni. Dinner and stay overnight at homestay. ***
Sunrise at Kelimutu Three Coloured Lakes – Detusoko Ricefield – Ende – Penggajawa – Riung
Get up earlier at 05.00 in the morning to start drive up to the peak of Mount Kelimutu to catch the amazing Sun rise. Spending the time to observe a natural wonder of the Three Colored Lakes where the water differs in color and continues to change from time to time.
Trekking down to the parking area, passing through tropical forests with unique vegetation and listening the whistle of Garugiwa – one of Flores endemic bird.
Drive down to the homestay to have breakfast. After having breakfast leaving Waturaka for Ende with stops at Detusoko rice field. Lunch will be served at Ende.
On the way to Riung we will also stop Penggajawa; a black sandy beach covered by colorful stones where the local people collecting it to export for building material and arts. Continue the trip and reach to Riung late in the afternoon. Dinner and stay overnight at Homestay.***
Islands Hopping and Marine Parks
After having breakfast at the homestay, we will be transferred to the harbor to get the boat to commence a marine excursion to some uninhabited islands and isles namely Batang Kolong Island, Ontole Island, Rutong Island and Tiga Island. Batang Kalong Island and Ontoloe are overgrown with dense mangroves and are also home to thousands of bats. Here a truly massive colony of fruit bats calls at mangrove forest home and hangs out during the day.
Riung Marine Park area holds a million amazing underwater natural beauties. Due to the calm and clear waters, on some points visitors are able to witness the beauty of the underwater world from a boat without having to get wet snorkeling or even diving. The marine life in this area is dominated by various types of coral reefs such as soft coral, table corals and sea fans.
Rutong and Pulau Tiga will be the best place for us for having relax on the white sandy beach or swim and snorkel.
Lunch will be served on the main island
After lunch, we leave Riung for Bajawa for 2,5 to 3 hrs driving. Check in to the hotel in Bajawa.***
Soa Hotspring – Mission Education Center – Coffee Observation – Bopoma Ngadhu Row
After breakfast we will drive down hills to Soa Basin to have a relax and refreshing moment in the natural pond of hotspring which is very good for healing.
Next we will visit to Todabelu Seminary. This is an education center which was built by Dutch Missionaries to beside to educate local young to become Catholic priest also to influence the quality of local life. Then move to Kemah Tabor Retreat house for lunch.
Drive inland and passing through the tropical forests and the villages, soft trekking under the shadow of Bamboo forest to reach Turetogo Bamboo Campus; the place where local people learn to cultivate Bamboo and use bamboo to cover their daily needs.
Bajawa has been so popular worldwide for its product of Arabica coffee on its premium quality and special taste. Proceeds to Wajamala to visit and observe Coffee Plantation where the highest quality of Coffee is derived from. Here we can learn all about coffee from the expert of Coffee and testing world’s best coffee right on its place.
Ogy Waterfalls, Soft Trekking Ogi Late, Bena Village and Wolobobo Sunset
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will begin with a light adventure to visit to Ogyfalls and we will have a trekking from Ogy to Late Village, a quiet village away from modern bustling life. Elevate up to the highest point at Bopoma perched on the slope of the hill at 2,365masl. The village is known as the crown of Flores as it lies highest on the island. Here we will be able to interact with the locals in their genuine hospitality.
Lunch will be served in peoples houses. After lunch we will visit the original community of Ngada tribe who are still consistently keeping their traditional way of life; living in their thatched roof traditional houses and practice their culture in their daily life. It is Bena traditional Community.
In the afternoon we will drive uphill to enjoy the Volcano and the hills with panoramic view while sunset at Wolobobo. Dinner will be served at local restaurant in Bajawa. Stay overnight at hotel in Bajawa. ***
Aimere Arak Distillations, Colol Village, Ranamese Volcanic Lake, Ruteng
After having breakfast, check out from hotel and get start our trip to the next destination – Ruteng. The road that winds down the hills leads us to the South coast at Aimere. There we will see the local community producing local arak in most traditional simple way. Lunch will be served at local restaurant in Borong.
The journey continues to Ruteng with a short stop at Colol to enjoy the rice field views and coffee. And next we will walk through the lush rainforest to reach Ranamese volcanic Lake. Here, we will get a new refreshment, breathe in as much fresh air as possible. The next stop will be made at Ranamese Volcanic Lake.
Continue the trip to Ruteng. Check in to Hotel and free at your own leisure until dinner time. Dinner will be served at local restaurant ***
City Tour Ruteng, Visit Ruteng Pu’u, Liang Bua Hobbit Cave, Linko Spider Web Rice fields, Labuanbajo
After having breakfast, check out and get start the trip to the next destination. Move westward to Labuanbajo. But before reaching the westernmost tip of the island we will have to explore the town to catch the original feature of the Manggaraians in their daily life. Some important stops will be made; firstly at Ruteng Puu to see the structure and construction of traditional house “Rumah Gendang” of the Manggaraians. Next to visit Liang Bua – the cave of the Hobbit “Homo Floresiensis”.
Lunch will be served at local retaurant in Ruteng. After having lunch, continue to see “Lingko” the spiderweb Rice fields panorama. Get the values dan philosophy of this land division.
The trip then continued to Labuanbajo… passing through the exotic forests and villages. Arrive in Labuanbajo then check in the hotel – You are free at own leisure until dinner time. Dinner at local restaurant and stay over night at the hotel. ***
Explore Komodo National Park: Padar and Komodo Island, Pink Beach, Taka Makasar and Kanawa Island
You will be fetched from the hotel to to the harbor where our speed boat is ready to take you to begin this Fullday tour. You will firstly approach Padar Island. You will take a morning hike to the top of the hill on Padar Island, from where you will witness the premium class of nature with its beautiful panorama.
After a photo section the trip will be continued to Komodo island one of the Seven Nature Wonders of the world where you will observe komodo dragon and many other faunas right on its natural habitat.
Moving afterwards to the famous Pink beach to enjoy the great view and the most beautiful beach with expanse pink color of sands. Then, get in the boat to cross the blue ocean and you will be taken to visit Taka Makasar. It is a tiny white sandy isle with crystal clear water that allows you to see clearly the coral reefs, various marine life and various types of fish. We will have the great opportunity for snorkeling with the Manta rays. Your islands excursion today will be ended with visiting the Kanawa Island.***
