(Transfer to Moni)
Welcome to Flores, the island of thousand wonders!
Touching down at Haji Arubusman Airport in Ende; meet and greet and our local guide will assist to transfer to the local restaurant for Lunch.
After having lunch we will begin the trip through the rugged mountain and valleys to Moni at base of the Kelimutu Volcano. Stop on the way at Detusoko rice field then drive afterwards to Moni with stop at NduaRia.
Check in to Hotel in Moni late in the afternoon. You are free for your own leisure until dinner time. Dinner will be served at local restaurant in Moni.
Back to the hotel after having dinner to take rest along the first night on the Island.***
Sunrise at Kelimutu Three Coloured Lakes – Detusoko Ricefield – Ende – Penggajawa – Riung
Get up earlier at 05.00 in the morning to start drive up to the peak of Mount Kelimutu to catch the amazing Sun rise. Spending the time to observe a natural wonder of the Three Colored Lakes where the water differs in color and continues to change from time to time.
Trekking down to the parking area, passing through tropical forests with unique vegetation and listening the whistle of Garugiwa – one of Flores endemic bird.
Drive down to the homestay to have breakfast. After having breakfast leaving Moni for Ende with stops at Wologai Village, a traditional village of the Lio Tribe.
Lunch will be served at local restaurant in Ende.
After lunch we will continue the trip to Riung. On the way to Riung we will also stop Penggajawa; a black sandy beach covered by colorful stones where the local people collecting it to export for building material and arts works. Continue the trip and reach to Riung late in the afternoon. Dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.***
Islands Hopping and Marine Parks
After having breakfast at the homestay, we will be transferred to the harbor to get the boat to commence a marine excursion to some uninhabited islands and isles namely Batang Kolong Island, Ontole Island, Rutong Island and Tiga Island. Batang Kalong Island and Ontoloe are overgrown with dense mangroves and are also home to thousands of bats. Here a truly massive colony of fruit bats calls at mangrove forest home and hangs out during the day.
Riung Marine Park area holds a million amazing underwater natural beauties. Due to the calm and clear waters, on some points visitors are able to witness the beauty of the underwater world from a boat without having to get wet snorkeling or even diving. The marine life in this area is dominated by various types of coral reefs such as soft coral, table corals and sea fans.
Rutong and Pulau Tiga will be the best place for us for having relaxed on the white sandy beach or swim and snorkel.
Lunch will be served on the main island
After lunch, we leave Riung for Bajawa for 2,5 to 3 hrs driving. Check in to the hotel in Bajawa.***
(Bajawa City Tour, Bena Village, Wajamala, Kemah Tabor, Soa Hotspring, Wolobobo)
After having breakfast, we will explore the city of Bajawa. This city tour will lead us go deeper to know the life of the Ngadha Tribe in modern world. The people of Bajawa are open-minded in accommodating difference and distinction.
Today, we will continue our journey to explore Bajawa in depth. Not far from Bajawa city, we will enter the Bena village, which preserves various ancient traditions and civilizations of the Ngada ethnic community. The locals continue to maintain and proudly practicing their cultural heritage, living a traditional life passed down from their ancestors from generation to generation. They still reside in traditional houses with thatched roofs, stone altars, and various symbols of faith and culture such like Ture, Ngadhu, and Bhaga shrines) that are well-preserved and standing proudly in the middle of the village.
From Bena we will continue to Wajamala Coffee Plantation to see how the locals cultivate and produce best quality coffee beans and the whole of its process to provide world class coffee. Here, we can get from its source to bring back home.
Our lunch will be served at Kemah Tabor on a most beautiful atmosphere. After lunch you will be taken to the Soa basin to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere and soothe your soul by soaking in the pool with natural hot water springs. The natural hot water contains sulfur and various earth minerals that are highly beneficial for health and can cure various diseases such as skin problems.
Back to Bajawa late in the afternoon for dinner and stay over night ***
Aimere Arak Distillations, Sita View, Ranamese Volcanic Lake, Ruteng
After having breakfast, check out from hotel and get start our trip to the next destination – Ruteng. The road that winds down the hills leads us to the South coast at Aimere. There we will see the local community producing local alcoholic drink in most traditional simple way.
Lunch will be served at local restaurant in Borong.
The journey continues to Ruteng with a short stop at Sita to enjoy the rice field views and coffee. And next we will walk through the lush rain-forest to reach Ranamese volcanic Lake. Here, we will get new refreshment, breathe in as much fresh air as possible. The next stop will be made at Ranamese Volcanic Lake.
Continue the trip to Ruteng. Check in to Hotel and free at your own leisure until dinner time. Dinner will be served at local restaurant ***
City Tour Ruteng, Visit Ruteng Pu’u, Liang Bua Hobbit Cave, Lingko Spider Web Rice fields, Labuanbajo
After having breakfast, check out and get start the trip to the next destination. Move westward to Labuanbajo. But before reaching the westernmost tip of the island we will have to explore the town to catch the original feature of the Manggaraians in their daily life. Some important stops will be made; firstly at Ruteng Pu’u to see the structure and construction of traditional house “Rumah Gendang” of the Manggaraians. Next to visit Liang Bua – the cave of the Hobbit “Homo Floresiensis”.
Lunch will be served at local retaurant in Ruteng. After having lunch, continue to see “Lingko” the spiderweb Rice fields panorama. Get the values and philosophy of this land division.
The trip then continued to Labuanbajo… passing through the exotic forests and villages. Check in to the hotel upon arrival in Labuanbajo – You are free at own leisure until dinner time. Dinner will be served at local restaurant ***
Explore Komodo National Park: Padar and Komodo Island, Pink Beach, Taka Makasar and Kanawa Island
You will be fetched from the hotel to to the harbor where our speed boat is ready to take you to begin this Fullday tour. You will firstly approach Padar Island. You will take a morning hike to the top of the hill on Padar Island, from where you will witness the premium class of nature with its beautiful panorama.
After a photo section continue to Komodo island one of the Seven Nature Wonders of the world where you will observe komodo dragon and many other faunas right on its natural habitat.
Moving to the famous Pink beach to enjoy the great view and the most beautiful beach with expanse pink color of sands. Then, get in the boat to cross the blue ocean and you will be taken to visit Taka Makasar – a tiny white sandy isle with crystal clear water that allows you to see clearly the coral reefs, various marine life and various types of fish. We will have the great opportunity for snorkeling with the Manta rays. Your islands excursion today will be ended with visiting the Kanawa Island. ***
City Tour – Transfer Out to Komodo International Airport
After having breakfast at the hotel, checking out from the hotel and in case the time permit we will do city tour Labuanbajo and shopping souvenirs. Dreaming to catch some best of Flores last minutes to grab and bring back home.
Transfer out to the airport two hours prior to ETD to catch the flight to your next destination. ***
